Dorothea Lange, March 1942

On the day after Pearl Harbor, a Japanese American shopkeeper posted this sign on his storefront in Oakland, California. Now, almost 80 years later, we will use social media to tell the world who we are.

Please join us in showing the diversity of the AANHPI community. Tweet or post a selfie and the following text with the hashtag #IAmAANHPI:

[Your name]

[Your ethnicity and generation in America]

[Year of you or your family's immigration]

I am [your state], I am [your nationality], and I am an American.

For example,

I am Erica.

I am fourth generation Japanese American.

My family immigrated in 1912.

I am an Oregonian, I am an American, and I am home. #IAmAANHPI
